Hartlepool teenager wins iPad

Local teenager, Gemma Marsey, has been announced the lucky winner of an iPad after entering a free prize draw at Pagan and McQuade Opticians on York Road, in Hartlepool.

Pagan and McQuade, along with other opticians’ part of the national Eye Love My Local Independent Optician campaign, urged local residents of every age to love their eyes and get them tested during National Eye Health Week in June. As an additional incentive, patients that booked an eye exam over the awareness week were offered the opportunity to win an iPad.

The national awareness week, run by Vision Matters, annually promotes the importance of eye health and the need for regular eye tests together with eye care charities, organisations and health professionals from across the UK to persuade people to take their eye health seriously.

Joanna Thomas, an optometrist at Pagan and McQuade Opticians, said: “It is very exciting that the winner of the free prize draw is one of our patients. Gemma has been visiting Pagan and McQuade since she was four and she is delighted with her win. I’m sure she will get hours of fun from the iPad.”

"The atmosphere, range of designer frames and the high levels of service at Wendy Diddams changed the way I viewed going to the opticians. By using an independent I have found that I don’t have to hang around waiting for ages and I also have never had an appointment cancelled since being with Wendy."

Naomi Wellman, from Knutsford, patient at Wendy Diddams Optometrist
